Our programs and services are intended to help faculty in using writing as a tool to enhance their teaching, improve student learning and writing in their major, in Gordon Rule courses, and in other writing-intensive classes.
Faculty Professional Development Events
WAC hosts events each semester for faculty across disciplines to learn about current scholarship, best practices, and an awareness of our multilingual, multicultural student body.
Faculty Consultations
Our Writing Across the Curriculum team is here to consult with individual faculty members, faculty teams, and programs/departments interested in incorporating writing as a dynamic teaching tool. Whether you need one-on-one assistance designing writing assignments or department-wide restructuring of an entire curriculum, we are here to help.
Teaching and Writing in the Disciplines Micro-Credentials
FIU's WAC offers two micro-credentials that support faculty across disciplines in teaching the critical skill of writing, as well as a student-facing micro-credential that prepares students to write for a variety of public and/or professional audiences.

Graduate Student and TA Support
Our Interdisciplinary Writing Teaching Assistant and University Graduate School Writing Fellows programs are designed to provide pedagogical support for graduate students, emerging scholars and future faculty members across disciplines.
For further information, see our Graduate & Teaching Assistant Support page.
Writing-Intensive (Gordon Rule) Course Support
WAC provides consultation with programs and departments through the course certification and review process. We also offer on-demand workshops on the diverse ways that writing can be incorporated effectively into classes across FIU.
